The Mod Cons used to be a Session Band made up of Teachers from DMA gathering for the "12 gigs of Christmas" in selective venues each Christmas. Covid Altered things.

2024 will allow the Mod Cons to perform all year round, having already booked in summer evening sessions and summer party gigs with the Full 3-piece band (drummer too). Bryan and Steve are well known in the Northeast music scene, but don’t leave home without the services of Andy (a former DMA Audio Teacher) now Google AV Engineer. DMA are attempting to cover parties, and weddings between venue gigs. Having a setlist constructed on-the-fly, hitting the crowd with more of what they want, their professionalism and popularity growing fast. Even more the mix of old school, alt 90, and modern, on 2 guitars – don’t miss a solo.

Why the Mod Cons?
The Mod Cons were the Brainchild of Steve - who surrounded himself by the best talent around at DMA. There is a great Comradery in DMA, each OCT-JAN came a chance to enjoy the festive spirit, let the instruments ring out together. In 2024 the Mod Cons will go full time, doing early Sunday sessions - inviting musicians up, parties, weddings, and continuing the two-piece intimate gigs.

Why a Small 2 Piece?
We actually do a 3 piece also including a drumming for weddings and parties.

Small or Big venues?
From Aslan - Zeppelin’s Plant. Steve engineered a lot of acts, every gig to suit the any venue.

~ “It’s not about the size of the venue, it’s about the music!"

He has toured extensively, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England, Netherlands, and Germany as a session player with several other bands, not just his regular band.

Steve is a schoolteacher, and third level lecturer by trade.
